Twinsie Tuesday, Follower Requested Mani

Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice weekend! My week this week is going to be hectic, I've been dreading it all weekend... But it didn't ruin it all for me.

Today's Twinsie Tuesday prompt is follower-requested mani. I posted a request on Instagram and got a few great ideas. So I went with the first one, real feather nails as requested by the lovely Amy from McPolish. (www.instagram.com/mcpolish Follow her, now. You won't be sorry!)

I've never done nail art with real feathers so this was a fun challenge.

For this mani I used feathers from Michael's and my polish is OPI Hey Baby. I followed a YouTube tutorial by jessFACE90, you should go check her out! I just realized I wasn't following her on Instagram too... Fixed that!!!

Overall I like the way this turned out. But it was tricky for me to do, mostly because I'm doing my nail stuff on my dominant hand until my ring finger nail on my left hand is up to par. I'll be ambidextrous before it's all said and done!!!!

What do you all think of these? Have you tried feather nails? It's a fun way to get a really funky look!

Thanks for reading. As always be sure to check out my fellow Twinsies manicures, linked below!

Twinsie Tuesday... Pick a previous theme.

Happy Tuesday folks! I hope you're all having a great week!

Today's TT prompt is pick a previous TT theme that you loved/hated or had to miss. Well, since I'm a newbie this was pretty easy for me.I went browsing through last year and found a theme I wanted to try, your oldest untried.

Now I don't think that this is technically my oldest untried, it's kind of hard to know after a while. But I do know it's been in my untried lineup for a while.

This is Deborah Lippman Mermaids Eyes.

I received this lovely polish in a super generous swap with the sweet Kelly from Tuxarina. (Link below) I only have a few DL's, two of them came from Kelly. :)

For this mani I used 2 coats of Mermaids Eyes and 1 coat of topcoat.

I love this polish! It's got so many little treasures hidden inside.

Check out the links below to see what the other twins decided to go with!

Thanks for reading!

Twinsie Tuesday... Bubbles!!!!!

Good morning everyone, happy Tuesday! Happy Twinsie Tuesday!

Today's prompt is Bubbles!!!!! Ok, I added the !!!!... because I can't stop thinking about the "my bubbles" scene from Finding Nemo. :)

For today's mani I decided to try a technique I've been wanting to try for a while.

I started with 2 coats of Polish My Life Breakfast on Fifth. If you haven't tried these indie creams you are seriously missing out. Go check out her shop here, you won't be sorry!

After applying my color I added a quick coat of fast dry topcoat. I let it dry, then went to work with watered down acrylic paint. There are lots of tutorials running around the internet on this one, but the one I used and found most helpful for me was by lovelynailsxx on YouTube. She's also on Instagram, you should check her out! She's got some great tutorials. For some reason this video was the video that finally made the technique click for me... it's very simple, but I just wasn't getting it. lol Once I let my bubbles dry I applied a coat of HK Girl by Glisten and Glow and I was done!

I love how these turned out! They look very wispy and thin, like bubbles in the ocean. But they kind of look like jellyfish too. So many Nemo reminders! I really need more acrylic paints so I can play more with techniques like this.

What do you think of this mani? Have you tried this technique? You definitely should!

Thanks for reading! Be sure to check out the other Twinsies takes on the bubbles prompt!

Have a great day!

Twinsie Tuesday... Nail Appliqués

Good morning everyone! I hope you're having a great week so far!

For today's Twinsie Tuesday post the prompt was nail appliqués. I have to say I groaned when I saw this one... I've never had much luck with nail strips and I was worried that I would be fighting my nails the entire time. But I was pleasantly surprised! Here's what I came up with.

For this mani I painted 3 coats of OPI Toucan Do It If You Try on my pinky and pointer, then applied Sally Hansens Love Letter nail stripes to my ring and middle fingers. It was my first successful application and I like it! I need practice, I can't stand seeing my nail at the tips like is shown here. But it was a successful attempt so it gives me hope! I think I will always prefer the look and feel of polish though.

What do you all think of appliqués? Yay or nay?

Thanks for reading. Be sure to check out my fellow Twinsies for their creations!

Until next time.
