Believe In Believing

Good morning everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days.

Today I have another Pipe Dream Polish for you. This is Believe In Believing from the Like The Weather Collection. (All of the polishes in this collection are named after lyrics in songs about the weather.) Believe In Believing is taken from Paula Abdul's Blowing Kisses In the Wind.

Believe In Believing is a gorgeous blood orange base packed with glitter. I mean PACKED. It's so packed that you can hardly look directly at it for all the sparkle. (Any polish lover worth their salt will know that this is a good thing!) According to April's Etsy listing it is full of fuchsia and raspberry glitter with pink and fuchsia micro flakies. (Fuchsia... there's that word again. I don't like that word! The spelling!!!! Ugh!)

This polish feels very holiday-ish to me. It's the color of glittering cranberries.... how perfect would it be for Thanksgiving and Christmas? I love it.

See what I mean about all the glitter??? It's fantastic. This is 3 coats of Believe In Believing topped with one coat of Glossy Glam. You can see in the macros how nicely GG smooths these glitter polishes out.

So what do you think about this polish? I love it, as I love all of April's polishes. (I think we've been over that a time or two.) This one was a bit thicker than some of the others, but that is to be expected with a polish this packed with glitter. It was thicker but it was easy to work with, I just had to be careful to use thin coats. It leveled out nicely and I had no issues. It was a complete pain to remove, but again, that's a glitter polish thing. I would be really worried that April had sold her soul to the devil if she'd made polishes this packed with glitter that glided off the nail as easy as a cream. ;)

Pipe Dream Polish can be purchased through their Etsy store here. She just put up some Halloween lovelies that I'm getting sometime soon, I can't wait to see them and share them with you!

Glossy Glam can be purchased through their Etsy store here. Ricarda also has some great polishes in her shop along with this awesome topcoat.

I hope you all had a great week! I'm going to try to get back on my posting schedule.

From 9/27 to 10/5 I am going to be MIA, but I have some amazing guest posters lined up so keep an eye out for that!

Talk to you soon!

What You Are Or What

Hello friends! Sorry for the late post, but I have to share this polish ASAP!

Today I have Pipe Dream Polish What You Are Or What. If you've read any of my posts you know that I am a HUGE fan of Pipe Dream Polish. The formulas are great, the colors are fantastic, and the maker is super sweet. It's a winning combo.

What You Are Or What is a deep purple/blue jelly packed full off teal, iridescent, fuchsia, and blue hex glitters. It is amazing. The formula was a little sheer, but built up nicely. That's really what you want with these polishes, because that's how you get the squishy jelly sandwich in a bottle look that we all know and love.

Look at all those squishy layers!!!! Isn't it beautiful??!?

This is 4 thin coats of What You Are Or What topped with one coat of Glossy Glam.

Pipe Dream Polish can be purchased on their Etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/pipedreampolish .

Glossy Glam can be purchased on their Etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/justricarda .

I highly recommend this polish. And Glossy Glam just brings out the best in every polish it touches.

I hope you all enjoyed these as much as I do!

Talk to you soon!

Hangin' On Like a YoYo

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday! Wake me up before you go-go, don't keep me hangin' on like a yo-yo... Yeah I've had that stuck in my head off and on since I swatched this beauty. Thanks April. ;) But really, who doesn't love a little Wham! on a Friday morning?

Today I have a swatch and review of a super fun glitter indie polish called Hangin' On Like a YoYo by Pipe Dream Polish. April describes this polish as medium matte teal, periwinkle, yellow, and aqua glitters in a neon coral base. And she means neon coral when she says NEON coral. This one is bright and extremely fun. On my fair (pasty) skin tone this pulled a little more coral than pink, but in person it leans more pink.

As with all of the Pipe Dream polishes that I've tried, the application is a dream. The glitters distribute evenly with no effort, the layers are easy to apply thinly so you can get that great "jelly sandwich" look. If you love bright, fun, color combos in your polishes, you NEED this one. It's fantastic. I didn't get a pic of this in full sun, but that's probably a good thing. I think all of the neon goodness might have given my camera a seizure.

This is 3 thin coats of Hangin' On Like a YoYo with one coat of Glossy Glam on top. All in all I love this polish, but I'm not sure it's something I will wear very often. While I LOVE bright polishes, I rarely wear them for any length of time. I'm not sure why, I just get tired of them after a while. No matter how awesome they are.

What do you all think? Isn't this the perfect mix of glitters for this base? I love it.

Pipe Dream Polish can be purchased through their Etsy store here. Her new fall collection releases today, you should go check them out! From the preview pictures I've seen, they are GORGEOUS! I'm buying them all!

Until next time!

Pretty and Petite

Good morning everyone! Happy Labor Day! Here in the states Labor Day is a holiday on the first Monday in September that is supposed to celebrate the workers of America. So in theory we are all supposed to get the day off to relax, BBQ  whatever we like. But, just like all other holidays in this country, it's mostly just a day off for those of us with office jobs and a ton of extra work for people in retail because everything goes on sale on holidays here. Go 'merica.

Today I have another Pipe Dream Polish for you. I have 8 of these polishes, and I love all of them. They aren't all polishes that I will probably wear much, but the formula and color combos are just so incredible. I love them.

Today's polish is Pretty and Petite. April describes this polish on her Etsy listing as is made up of various sized holo glitters in purple, blue, and silver in a bright barbie/bubblegum pink base. I LOVE this polish. This is one of my very favorites so far. I'm a sucker for pink, and glittery pink just kills me. There are different shapes and sizes and colors and sparkles. I just can't. It's so pretty and girly and perfect. You can see the glitter through all the layers as usual, and the pink is on point. It's a true pink, not orange or red or coral, it's PINK. :)

Here are some pictures so you can see just how great it is. It does look a little coral-ish in the pictures, but that is just my pasty skin and how it looks in pictures. Trust me, in person this is PINK PINK PINK.

This is 3 thin coats of Pretty and Petite topped with one coat of Glossy Glam.

There are so many different shapes and shades of glitter in there. (to my eye) And there are a lot of holo sparkles in it too. It's a great, girly, polish. If you love sparkles and pink, you need this in your life ASAP!

Let me know what you think!

Fell Into a Sea of Grass

Happy Saturday everyone! Here in the states it is a holiday weekend, which means a 3 day weekend for some of us, including me and my husband. We don't really have any big plans, as usual, because that is the way we like to keep it. We are homebodies through and through. I'm sure I'll paint my nails at least a time or two, and the dog probably needs a bath... but that's about as exciting as it gets. :)

Today I have another lovely Pipe Dream Polish. I'm sure you're tired of hearing it, but I love these polishes. And this one is no different. April describes this polish as being made up of medium sized royal blue metallic, bright blue matte, and silver glitter in a bright, grass green jelly base. The glitter in this polish is really hard to capture color wise, but trust me, it's pretty. My camera doesn't do the glitter justice. It's not the kind of green I normally wear, but I really love it. The formula is great (as usual), jelly sandwich in a bottle, the glitter flows just like you want it to. There's no placement necessary. The green is bright but not neon, it's jelly enough to see all the layers but creamy enough that you don't see any visible nail line. (one of my biggest pet peeves on my own nails)

I used three thin coats for the photos below and topped it with Glossy Glam to smooth it out and make it shine. One it's own it dried a little matte, and all glitters like this dry a little lumpy.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

The macro really shows the glitters in all the layers.

I don't know that this will be a polish that I wear much, but I do love it. I love love LOVE the formula. It's so squishy and bright and effortless.

Pipe Dream Polish can be purchased from their Esty store here.

What do you think? Personally I hope April keeps doing what she's doing because she is doing it RIGHT!

Mas Fina

Good morning polish friends! I hope you're all having a great week so far. Saturday I had a swatch-a-thon and I am really excited for the next few posts that I have for you.

Today's post is the one that I am probably the most excited about, it was so hard to wait to share this. In fact I shared a sneak peak on my Instagram Saturday because I just couldn't wait.

This beauty is Pipe Dream Polish Mas Fina. Mas Fina is part of April's "Just a Girl" collection. All of the polishes are named from song lyrics by female artists with "girl" in the title. This one is from Madonna's Who's That Girl. According to Pipe Dream's Etsy listing, "this polish is made up of blue-green and purple iridescent with teal and lilac in a violet base with a hint of turquoise shimmer". I have looked at dozens of pictures of this on taken by many people, and while every picture is beautiful, I haven't seen any that are truly color accurate in real life. April and I talked about it and she put it perfectly when she said the iridescent shimmer kinda makes the camera freak out a little. I don't know how to describe it other than to say that the violet base is much more vibrant in person. Maybe deeper would be a good word. It is seriously one of the most beautiful color and glitter combos that I have seen. April's iridescent glitters just blow my mind. Oh who am I kidding, all of her polishes have been blowing my mind. I have the BIGGEST crush on Pipe Dream Polish. So I hope you don't get tired of hearing me dote on them, because I won't be stopping anytime soon. I'm already planning to order all 6 of her fall collection. (She's been posting sneak peaks on Instagram but I CAN'T WAIT to see them in person!)

So, on to some pictures.

SERIOUSLY, those macros. This polish is just so so pretty. Application is flawless, it glides on just where you put it, no glitter placement needed. The first coat is a little thin, but it builds nicely. I used 3 coats here but you could probably get away with 2. (I have this thing for 3's... yeah, I'm a little crazy. But not too much.)

This is 3 coats of Mas Fina topped with one coat of Glossy Glam.

Pipe Dream Polish can be purchased on their Etsy store here.

Glossy Glam (the best top coat EVER, especially over indie glitters) can be purchased on Etsy here. Looks like she's out of stock right now, but watch her Instagram for restock updates!

I hope you all love this one as much as I do!

Flip Fantasia

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday!

Today I have the 4th and final Pipe Dream Polish for you. (Final for now, I have more on the way this week. :) )

This polish is called Flip Fantasia. It is a lovely coral-pink jelly base with just a bit of turquoise shimmer. This polish has circle glitters, teal and silver HOLO circle glitters. Holo teal glitter, yeah you read that right. There are also small silver, teal, and turquoise, hex glitters packed in here. This polish is really very pretty. I'm sure you're getting tired of hearing it, but April's polishes really are fantastic. They are jelly enough to see all the way through the layers, but opaque enough that they build nicely.

Today was a swatching day, so I didn't wear this for very long. And the sun didn't come out to help me show it's true beauty. I can see myself reaching for this one anytime I need something bright and unique.

On to some pictures.

All of these were taken in my light box. This is 3 coats of FF with one coat of Seche Vite. You could get away with 2 coats of this, but I have this thing for doing 3 coats of any polish I apply. I'm not sure if it's an OCD thing or maybe a security thing? Could be both. I can't stand visible nail line (VNL) on myself and I get so mad when I find bald spots the day after painting! :)

So what do you all think? I absolutely love it. The circle glitters are unique and really eye catching. The application of this polish was pretty, everything but the large circle glitters flowed and applied easily. I had to do a little fishing for those big pretty circles, but that is completely normal for a polish like this.

Overall I love it and have zero complains. Pipe Dream Polish can be purchased from their Etsy store here. Please go check it out; April is amazing and her products are just as great as she is.

Thanks for reading! Have a happy Monday!

Hotter Than a Fantasy

Hey polish friends! How is everyone's week going so far? It finally stopped raining here and we are finally going to get a few days of nice weather.

Tonight is a quick swatch and review post that is pretty picture heavy. This is the 3rd Pipe Dream Polish that I purchased, it is called Hotter Than a Fantasy. This polish is part of April's Just a Girl Collection - all of the polish names are taken from song lyrics by female artists. This title is taken Alicia Keys' Girl on Fire. April describes this in her shop as a sapphire blue base, but to me it looks more purple. Either way, it's really pretty. The glitters are varying sizes of pink and orange. Plus April's awesome, shimmery iridescent little pieces of glittery goodness that I love so much.

This polish is just whoa... glitter bomb like crazy, jelly sandwich in a bottle. For my pictures I used 3 coats and topped it with two coats of Glossy Glam. It is harder to work with than the other two Pipe Dreams that I've posted. But, it should be harder to work with; this one has a lot more glitter and includes the larger, harder to work with pieces. It's just the nature of polishes like this. But it is so worth it! It is so packed with glitter that you don't have to place anything, the only difficulty I had was that it was a bit thick. Quick tip for ya, if you have a chunky glitter that you know you're going to be using soon, try storing it upside down for a little while before polishing. This makes the big glitters come to the top, so when you flip it back over to paint they are right where they need to be for the brush to pick them up.

This polish is gorgeous! The squishy layers... ugh. I just can't. I'm gonna let the pictures speak for themselves. The sun and light box are the most true to color, but I had to include the shade pictures too because they were too pretty to pass up!
